ok ok ok gotta update just so i can keep up with things. i feel like im forgetting things that have happened due to the idiocity of the last couple days.

ok, so we watched:
you and me and everyone we know
2046
puddle cruiser

you know theres been a ton more and i cant freaking remember them. this is why i need to update this shit more, fuck. i told myself, update this or you are going to loose track of the things you've watched which is real important to me for posterity's sake.
spelling bee.

also, bowled yesterday with dave. i bowled my new record of 212. i still havent played a top notch game because in that 212 game i fouled once and didnt spare one frame, so im kicking myself knowing that i could have really had a killer game if i were more consistent. my fingers hurtttttttt.

ive been sick. new years and the following days = me laid up not doing a damn thing. i hate illness. it happened the day after the show which was nice.

my apartment is empty.

dang gena. on a whim i decided to delete my myspace last night. too many 17 yr old girls messaging me and im really tired of being addicted to it and hitting refresh a million times a day. If you remember a while back i also said i was going to be leaving eugene land as well, but we all know how well that worked out (not at all). the only bad thing is : i cant delete eugene! myspace is kinda rediculous. well, i wont say that, but to me, in my personal life, it was. i guess i let it get out of hand. i dont know. it just seemed like the right thing to do. the thing is, its just about time for new years resolutions, and i did pretty shitty last year on mine. damn. i just want to be a better person. i need to improve my life. i need to seek out knowledge, i feel like ive just became very stagnant. im going to try to go to school. this will be a huge step as im not going to go to a university but an art college and im going to have to take out mass loans. everyone else does it. on the way to work this morning i was listening to npr and someone said theres a difference between bad debt and good debt, and good debt was definetly college debt and everyone expects that and is ok with it. i took it as a sign from allah cause it was so strange that what they were saying was on my mind at the time. im not making any promises, im just saying its in my head and i really feel like making changes in my life. whatever.

also last week with uncle dave i bowled the game of my life. and i dont even bowl. but i hit 194 in a game with two turkeys seperated by one frame. me and dave are going to bowl more often. he's a superior athelete at everything and really helped my bowling form. ive never been worth a crap at bowling and then i listen to what he says and bowl a 194. its good style.

I forgot to mention: I went to best buy last night to look at ipods and drool for a while. I get there and i see this baby.

This is the shit. i played with it for like 20 minutes. fucking OWNS ipod, like serious. im getting this instead of Ipod. The resolution on the screen is like real deal, not black/white LCD stuff ipod uses. Plus, the blackness is just SLLLLEEEEKKKK.

Its only 299 too for 30gb. PHAT. it holds video, pictures, and has a personal voice recorder. the interface is all touch screen. like the blue lines and buttons dont even show up unless your finger touches the device, then you just tap whatever you want it to do. im telling you friends, this is the ipod killer. im gonna get it next pay check hopefully.

Theres just too much music out there that i need to hear regulary that i dont get because my car doesnt have a cd player, and i cant readily listen to music at my computer PC cause too many people around. I need this in my life!

friends only

I never have really thought about this because......... i just didnt really think about it, but the other day rachel mentioned something about someone we dont even know reading the old LJ and it got me thinking. I really dont want people I dont know THINK they know me just due to what gets sporadically written in an online blog every now and then. Ergo ive decided to go friends only. If you stumble on this and I havent added you to my friends list for some reason just give me a shout out and we can hook it up.

these two guys from china just came in wanting to set up service. gah, i just wanted to talk to them about movies haha. i wanted to be like, "you are from china? you like wong kar wai (because right now im really on his jock)" haha, they would have probably been like "never heard of him but do you like steven spielberg!!" haha. good times. china must be great. I dont know any friends that have visited there. or anything asian. well uncle dave lived there for years but he doesnt much talk about it. I think he was in the singapore area.

well i just talked to foley and we said we should check out some movies this saturday. im thinking the ky theater to sit through either broken flowers or grizzly man. whoever's down should come. unfortuantly the KY theater doesnt have their schedule up for that day yet but i would assume theres a 7:15ish showing for both the aforementioned films.

damn those china men just came back in and talked to me and i didnt have the guts to ask them again. silly kids.

im so tired. I hate work. I am one of those people that can go the rest of my life without a job and be completely fine with that. Alot of people get all out of shape without a schedule. fuck that. i would be so happy never having to work for money again. or at least if i could just work like 5 hour days. i just hate wasting my whole day at work when i could be out doing things that actually increase my happiness.

i want to increase my happiness by relocating but its a double edged sword. I need to have a city in my life. for some reason I have always since a child craved that, the huge skyline with interesting shops haha.

ahhh. but yet theres so much more to it than that.

Gonna find my baby, gonna hold her tight
gonna grab some afternoon delight.
My motto's always been; when it's right, it's right.
Why wait until the middle of a cold dark night.
When everything's a little clearer in the light of day.
And you know the night is always gonna be there any way.
Sky rockets in flight. Afternoon delight. Afternoon delight.
Thinkin' of you's workin' up my appetite
looking forward to a little afternoon delight.
Rubbin' sticks and stones together makes the sparks ingite
and the thought of rubbin' you is getting so exciting.
Sky rockets in flight. Afternoon delight. Afternoon delight.
Started out this morning feeling so polite
I always though a fish could not be caught who wouldn't bite
But you've got some bait a waitin' and I think I might try nibbling
a little afternoon delight.
Sky rockets in flight. Afternoon delight. Afternoon delight.
Please be waiting for me baby when I come around.
We could make a lot of lovin' 'for the sun goes down.
Sky rockets in flight.
gah. i really love good movies. i've just browsed netflix for like 3 hours and have read all these reviews and stuff and..mm. it just feels good.
i wish i was watching something cool right now. i want to see movies i love at the theater though. all these great films and only a minute (my-newt) fraction comes to this region and an even smaller fraction of that comes to the ky. :(

and in other bad news socom 3 isnt coming out till oct 11th. thought i was gonna get it sooner, not gonna happen. i went out and prepaid for it and didnt even get anything cool, no demo or nothin. shitty. they better let me get it on the 10th at midnight by god.

when it comes out dont expect to see me very much. ive gotten back into socom 2 and have been playing it like nonstop for the last couple of days. i feel bad. rachel is leaving this weekend. its gonna be wierd. party at my house saturday night so i dont feel lonely and cry.

later.

played a show at short street lounge last night. got three songs in and josh glancy decided it would be a good idea to put a hole through his bass drum rendering the kit useless and caused us to cut the set a little short. not a big deal really though, as we were wanting to cut our set short anyway to allow time for this german hardcore band to play. they were called battle royale!!! they had emailed us the day before saying they were around the area and needed a show, so we asked the booker if we played less if he'd have a problem with them sharing our set. they were really rad. me and a member of the band talked at pretty good lengths about random shit. she was really suprised at all the christian bands that were playing the show and very happy to know we shared the same attitude regarding that (thumbs down! haha). she told me in germany you just dont have "christian" bands. she was like "What do they sing about? Do they ask you to be baptized?" haha. fun times, wish i could have hung out with them all more cause i love meeting people from far away lands. however, american capitalism called me into work the next day and our time was cut short.

well shit lau'ren, take that!

silly thoughts and subtle prose on Werner Herzog's Aguirre:The Wrath of God, Nosferatu, My Best Fiend: Klaus Kinski, and The Enigma of Kaspar House, as well as Meirelles' The Constant Gardener and Melville's Le' Circle Rouge, all somewhat dissappointed and lonely behind the looming

Herzog, Aguirre: The Wrath of God (1972)
I love you. I really do. You are pretty. You are evil. You are mean. You are beautiful. You are mad, insane really. I like that about you. The amazonian jungle is a canvas for this tale of commitment and investigation. Kinski carries this film on bloody shoulders as the wrath of god which leaves me stunned. I give this film honors.
8/10

Herzog, Nosferatu The Vampyre (1979)
A reimagined version of the German silent by Murnau 50 some years earlier, Kinski is NOT the vampire of Gary Oldman, the sleek, well dressed, sexual predator. Instead, in Nosferatu, Kinski brings Dracula to a depressed and lonely place. He is pathetic and exhausted. This particular film will not be for everyone even moreso than I feel most of herzog/kinski's work isnt, just because we are so accustomed to the typical Dracula storyline that this work almost seems hoky in some parts and badly aged in others. What has stood the test of time though is the performance of lead Klaus Kinski plus direction of Herzog.
6.5/10

Herzog, The Enigma of Kaspar House (1974)
"Do you not then hear this horrible scream all around you? People call it silence." This movie focuses on Kaspar, a young man who is kept away from all humanity during his rise to adulthood, kept captive by a man we'll never know for reasons we'll never find out, only to be released without explanation in the small 1920's village of nuremburg. We see this "adult" facing the world for the first time which is just good. The work is just how i like it, Odd, depressing, and Herzogian. "mother..I am so far away from everything" AH good.
8/10

Herzog, My Best Fiend: Klaus Kinski (1999)
When you watch the work of Klaus Kinski and Werner Herzog, you naturally are going to want to delve deeper into their relationship and lives because they are just interesting people. This film is a great outlet for starts. I love hearing the tales of Herzog holding Kinski at gunpoint to finish a scene and seeing Kinski just fucking fly off the handle when things dont go his way. But I also REALLLLLY loved seeing two friends who made some great films together be all buddy buddy as well. Watch the Kinski/Herzog library first, then check this out. You will be in love.
9/10

Meirelles, The Constant Gardener (2005)
Checked it out Regal Theater style with the lady. Was pretty good i guess but I felt kinda left out. Rachel Weisz REALLY uber reminded me too much of Keira Knightley(dont get me started) and Kate Winslett in Eternal Sunshine, and though Ralph Fiennes did decent i guess I still felt like i wasnt getting much honesty from the performances. Maybe it was just me. I doubt it.
I really just felt that it was too rushed, the story too eager, the ideas too vague. Something about it just wasnt entirely right. It wasnt horrible by any means and i'd be willing to set through it again, but it just wasnt anything new brought to the table like I feel Meirelles did with City of God. Still, theres definet traces of his style in there, especially when he first takes the film to Africa. He really has a unique way of taking the audience to new lands and forcing the viewer to interact with it. We'll see more good things from him in the future, no doubt.
7/10

Melville, Le Circle Rouge (1970)
Pretty cool, glad I checked it out. Hadnt really heard much about it until i stumbled on it through my normal netflix browsing. Its a stylish hip crime caper that freinds of the french should def check. may be up your alley.
7/10

In other news, like miss mcfavorite, i gotta change some things! im going to try to retire from eugene messageboard land. anymore its just reallly reallly reallllllly getting on my last nerve and i just fucking cant take it anymore. the bad thing is that eugene is so easy for me to take part in because im SO DAMNED BORED AT WORK. jesus. oh well. more reading books and updating livejournal. its going to be hard because after so many years of hitting refresh constantly i think im literaly addicted. however, it pisses me off so much and i find everyone so stupid that i think the disgust will be enough to ween me off it. so today, im gonna try to make my last day posting actively there. HERES HOPING. It's gonna be hard but i got to. hahaha.

well my friend chainsaw came up to me and said he saw a small tiddy on my band in the magazine revolver. i didnt believe him till i saw it. we dont know how revolver got a hold of the info but gather it was from some press packages we sent around to some labels that may have passed it on. its fun times but nothing serious!

as i was walking outside of my work towards a lunch break, amidst the pouring rain i hear a weak "meow meow" in the bushes and shubbery. A little kitten was in the bushes which was too thick for me to even get a good look at her but finally i saw her face. poor beautiful girl , she was just soaking wet and crying. GOD i wanted to pick her up and take her with me but i couldnt get to her and i didnt think rachel would be able to take another cat in anyway. but fuck now i hear her little cries all around me 4 hours after the fact.

i feel so bad, i miss her i wish i could have did more. i hope your ok little buddy.
